16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children
WOMEN ON FARMS PROJECT
The Women on Farms Project (WFP) is an NGO working with women who live and/or work on commercial farms. WFP aims to educate farmwomen on their rights, including living and working conditions. WFP has a long established relationship with women who live and work on farms in the Cape Winelands District Municipality.
WFP’s Womens’ Health and Empowerment [WHEP] aims to ensure that farmwomen’s health needs and rights are accessible. WHEP trains farm-based Health Teams in sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, alcohol abuse and HIV/AIDS. Health Teams are linked to farm committees, which assist it in addressing health issues within a broader framework of accessing rights.
